When your funding feels fragile

Charity Marketing & Fundraising Support for Small UK Charities

Income that doesn’t rest on one source, a message people act on, and the strategy and words behind it – while your team stays in control of the day-to-day fundraising and supporter relationships.

Fundraising gets fragile when it leans on a single source – one grant, one major donor, one partner – or runs on appeals sent out with no plan behind them. We build the fundraising and marketing strategy for small UK charities, and the message and materials to run it – the case for support, the campaign copy, the landing pages, the donor journey. Running the campaigns and holding the supporter relationships stays with your team, because that’s the part no one can do for you.

Marketing and Fundraising Strategies

Signs Your Charity's Income Feels Fragile

Any of these sound familiar?

  • Everything rests on one or two sources. One big grant, donor or partner falls away, and the year falls apart. You can feel how exposed it is, but there’s never time to fix it.
  • Always chasing the next grant. Fundraising runs from one deadline to the next, with no plan underneath it and no sense of what comes after this one.
  • People don’t respond the way you hoped. Supporters struggle to understand what you do or why it matters, so fundraising doesn’t get the response it should.
  • Donors give once and drift away. No welcome, no follow-up, no journey – so you’re always finding new people instead of keeping the ones you have.
  • Building fundraising from scratch. New or growing, and you’d rather set it up properly now than piece it together appeal by appeal.

Recognise your charity in one or two of these? That’s what this service is for. Not sure what’s wrong? The free call will help you place it.

How We Help You Build Income That Lasts

Understand where the income really comes from, build the strategy and the message, then build what your team needs to run it

This is strategy and craft. We build the plan and the materials; running them is your team’s job – the people who know your supporters are the ones who should be talking to them.

STEP 1

Understand where your income really comes from

The mix, the concentration, what’s working and what isn’t, and where supporters drop off. You can’t fix fragile income until you can see how fragile it is, and why.

STEP 2

Build the strategy and the message

A fundraising plan that’s more than the next appeal, a case for support that says plainly why your charity matters, and messaging that gives people a reason to act.

STEP 3

Build what your team needs to run it

The campaign copy, the landing pages, the appeal and the donor-journey setup – handed over ready to use, so your team can run it without an agency on retainer. Income that lasts.

What We Do, and What Stays With You

We’re not a fundraising agency – and that’s on purpose

We build the strategy, write the message, and produce the materials. Running it stays with your team.

What we build:

  • the fundraising and marketing strategy
  • the case for support and the messaging
  • the campaign copy and the landing pages
  • the donor journey and the email setup
  • branding and visual identity, where it’s part of the wider work – as a separate project

What stays with your team:

  • running the campaigns and appeals
  • the conversations with funders, donors and partners
  • the relationships that keep donors giving

The relationships can’t be outsourced, and shouldn’t be. That’s what keeps people giving, so it belongs with the people who know them.

What You Get

Fundraising You Can Rely On

A way of raising money that doesn’t depend on one source or one lucky year

  • A fundraising strategy that guides decisions – so you’re working to a plan, not lurching from deadline to deadline.
  • A message supporters understand and act on – a clear case for support that tells people why you matter and what their money does.
  • Campaign copy and landing pages ready to use – written and built, so you run the appeal rather than draft it from scratch.
  • Donor journeys that encourage people to stay involved – welcomes and follow-ups that turn a first gift into a lasting relationship.
  • A team that can keep things moving – set up and handed over, so the capability stays in-house rather than on an agency retainer.

Do It Yourself, Or With Us

How far you take this yourself depends on what you need

Understand it first

Charity Income That Doesn’t Depend on One Source – why income stays fragile in small charities, and how to build it as a connected system rather than a set of one-off activities.

Locate the problem

The Charity Growth Diagnostic – checks income alongside strategy, governance and systems, so you know where the real pressure is before you spend.

Manage it yourself

The Charity Income Tracker records income by fund and source as it reaches the bank, with a concentration check that shows how much you’re leaning on any one source. The Fundraising Campaign Tracker runs a single appeal from launch to target.

For a specific model

The Sponsorship Programme Framework – a complete system for running a sponsorship programme, if that’s how you raise money.

Do it with us

The strategy, the message, and the copy and pages to run it. That’s the work we’re for.

Ways To Work With Us On Your Fundraising

Once you know what you need, here’s how to get it – three ways in

  • Charity Consultation – a single session on a specific question: a campaign that isn’t landing, a funding mix that’s too narrow, a message that isn’t working. You leave with a clear recommendation.
  • One-off Marketing & Fundraising Project – a defined piece of work: a fundraising strategy, a case for support, a campaign built ready to run. Scoped up front, yours to keep.
  • Ongoing Support Plan – fundraising and marketing as part of month-to-month support, for when you want a strategist alongside you as you go. Plans start from three months.

Not sure which fits? That’s what the free call is for.

Fundraising Works Best When the Foundations Work Together

Income rarely stands on its own

A fundraising strategy works when there’s a clear direction behind it, a board that can see the money, and systems that can carry the campaigns. When the pressure is really coming from one of those, that’s where we’d start.

  • Charity Strategy Support – if you can’t yet say what you’re raising money for, the appeals won’t land. Strategy that guides.
  • Charity Governance Support – if the board can’t see or question the income, decisions get made blind. Governance that holds.
  • Charity Digital & Tech Support – Digital & Tech builds the website, CRM and automation that support fundraising; this service focuses on the strategy, messaging and supporter journey that sit on top. Systems that work.

Common Questions About Charity Marketing & Fundraising Support

FAQs

Do you run our campaigns and social media?

No, and that’s on purpose. We build the strategy, the message and the materials; running the campaigns and posting day to day stays with your team. You know your supporters – the point is to make you good at reaching them, not to do it instead of you.

We write it. The case for support, the appeal copy, the landing pages – finished and ready to use, not a framework for you to fill in. The strategy decides what to say; we also say it.

Not directly – we don’t offer grant writing or bid-writing services at the moment. What we do help with is the groundwork underneath a strong application: the fundraising strategy, the case for support, and getting clear on which funders fit. The writing and submitting stays with you.

We’re not a branding agency, but messaging, positioning and visual consistency are often part of the wider work – and a logo or a full identity can be a separate project within it. If a rebrand on its own is really what you need, we’ll tell you.

Registration is voluntary, not a legal requirement, though many charities choose it as a public sign that they follow the Code of Fundraising Practice. We can help you weigh it up and get ready if you decide to.
